Jean Herscovits Scholars Project (JHS Project 2021- till date)

This project, with funding from the Jean Herskovits Foundation, supports primary school girls aged 7 to 8 at a critical stage for building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills. By intervening early, the project helps prevent learning gaps from becoming entrenched and supports girls to remain engaged and confident learners.

The project is rooted in community-driven approaches, working closely with parents, mothers’ groups, and Community Accountability Committees as active partners. Their involvement strengthens local ownership, builds resilience, and ensures sustainable, context-responsive support for girls’ education—creating environments where girls can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
