Mrs Amina Hanga

Amina Hanga is the Executive Director of the Isa Wali Empowerment Initiative (IWEI), a Kano-based nonprofit advancing women’s rights, girls’ education, and access to justice in Nigeria. Since 2010, she has spearheaded grassroots programmes reaching thousands across Northern Nigeria, including critical policy advocacy like supporting the Kano State Government in domesticating the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy. Nationally and regionally, Amina guides IWEI’s work as the Regional Anchor for the Grassroots Justice Network in West and Central Africa, championing inclusive governance and legal empowerment. 

In her free time, Amina enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchild.
